The above plat shows the boundaries of the Town of Millen as surveyed by County Surveyor Lamberty of Burke County. It will be noted that the county line (Burke-Screven) cut the town into making it most difficult for the town to grow. It will be further noted that only Gray and Winthrope Streets had been laid out and named. Only a north and south highway on the western side of town was shown. Many present day improvements are noted on the map to show their location in respect to this plat.
