"Sometimes going on a shoot can be an unexpected adventure.
In the case of Birdsville Plantation we were venturing into uncharted
territory even for Don Fenwick, the cameraman, who always seems
to have been everywhere! We carefully followed Mary Andrews "country
directions' - turn left at the pecan orchard, go over two bridges,
continue until the hardtop ends! - and were totally enchanted when
we finally arrived at the elegant old plantation house that has
been in Mary's family since 1784. Visiting this private house, way
off the beaten track, was one of those special experiences those
of us who work in television are privileged to enjoy"
The plantation has been in the same family since 1784 and the house
reflects the changes in style over the years. Current owner, Mary
Andrews, is interviewed about the house and its history.
