How to use Libby

​How to use Kanopy
  1. Download the Libby app in the Google Play, Kindle App Store, or Apple App Store, or go to Libbyapp.com in your internet browser. 
  2. Follow the prompts. If you do not have a library card, visit your local library or register for an e-card. 
  3. When prompted, choose “I’ll search for a library.”
  4. Search for “Georgia Download Destination.” 
  5. Enter your library card number. 
  6. Now you’re ready to browse for eBooks and audiobooks!
  7. Click “borrow” to check out items or “place hold” to put items on hold.  
  8. Click on “shelf” to see the items you have checked out or on hold.

  1. Choose how you want to access Kanopy.  Please note that you will need internet access to use it!  You can download the Kanopy app to watch on your phone or tablet, access it through your SmartTV, or watch on your computer.
  2. Create an account. Your library card account needs to be valid & current. 
    1. Visit sjrls.kanopy.com and select "Add Library Card" or download app and select "Add Library Card" button
    2. Enter your library card number
    3. Create an account using your preferred email
    4. Begin streaming!
  3. Once you have signed up, you can search for a particular title by using the BROWSE button or a type of show by using the GENRE button. If you see something that looks interesting, click on it. If you decide you want to watch, press the play button.
  4. You have 5 Play credits per month.  If you run out, don’t worry – just wait until the first of the month for your credits to renew!
NOTE 1: Click on the KIDS button to see what kind of great kids’ movies and series are available.  As long as these are watched while in the KIDS section, they do not count against your monthly credits!
NOTE 2: The “Great Courses” series also do not count against your Play credits, but you may only watch 2 of these series per month.
  1. If you can’t finish a show or series in one sitting, don’t worry!  When you want to resume watching, use the MY LIST button to see which shows you were watching, and how long you have before you have to spend another Play credit to continue watching.
  2. If you have trouble, click on SUPPORT at the bottom of the page, or ask your friendly library staff member!
